Travelling to "The best country in the world".

Winning the "Best Country" category in the esteemed Telegraph Travel Awards in the UK is no mean feat.......So for New Zealand to have won it consecutively for the last four years is simply incredible.

What then is it that makes travelling in New Zealand so amazing for our visitors?

What then is it that makes travelling in New Zealand so amazing for our visitors?

Well there are of course many reasons such as the rich culture, unique wildlife, endless adventures and the local friendliness found on our shores, however unsurprisingly the #1 reason for the votes is our country's natural beauty. To quote the Telegraph "The Landscapes make you want to applaud"!! Enough said.

When you're on tour with Adventure Junkies you'll experience not only the very best adventures on offer, but also the stunning South Island locations that have made travel here a must do.  Here are just a few awesome places that we visit on tour........

AJ Hackett Ledge Bungy

Queenstown
The Adventure Capital of the World and home to Adventure Junkies. Our slice of paradise is a major destination and is included on all of our tours with a minimum two nights stay.
Not only is this a dream destination for adventure seekers and
adrenalin nuts due to the insane amount of cool and crazy things to do here such as the AJ Hackett Ledge bungy, but it's also an absolutely stunning alpine town set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges such as the aptly named "Remarkables".  If you could only visit one more place in your life then it would have to be Queenstown!

Milford SoundMilford Sound
Often referred to as the jewel in the crown of New Zealand tourism, Milford Sound is truly awe-inspiring and was described as the eighth wonder of the world by Rudyard Kipling.
This pristine sheltered fiord is located in Fiordland National Park and is dominated by steep cliffs and rainforest with Mitre Peak taking centre stage at a proud 1,692 metres above sea level.
It's also home to giant thundering waterfalls and bountiful with marine life, and a kayaking trip here with Adventure Junkies often leads to encounters with dolphins, seals and penguins.

Lake Tekapo and Lake PukakiLake Pukaki
These two incredible glacial lakes are found in the Mackenzie Basin close to New Zealand's tallest mountain Aoraki Mt Cook (3,724m).
Both of these destinations offer jaw dropping, picture perfect scenery and offer some of the most beautiful blue and turquoise waters you'll ever see in your life.
These super accessible locations are a real highlight on both our 10 day NZ Adrenalin and NZ Adventure tours.  Prepare to be wowed!

Rob Roy GlacierRob Roy Glacier
When you get off the beaten track you can be rewarded with experiences that many other travellers miss, and by jumping on tour with Adventure Junkies not only will you not miss a thing but you'll instead find yourself at staggeringly beautiful places like the Rob Roy Glacier pictured here in Mt Aspiring National Park.
This 6 hour round trip from Wanaka see us don our hiking boots, cross the pounding Matukituki river and make our way up through the Rob Roy valley's ancient native Beech forest and to truly rewarding views of  the hanging glacier and it's many waterfalls.
This is one of our favourite one day walks in New Zealand and an absolute must do for any adventurer in the Lake Wanaka region.

Join us this summer and let us show you these and other great locations whilst on tour.......we have so many amazing places to show you and would rather do it in person together.
